About

Pembury School Association (PSA) is the name of the Parent Teachers Association (PTA), associated with Pembury School in Pembury, Kent, UK.

We are a committee of parents and teachers who raise money to buy the things for our kids that the school budget just can’t stretch to.

The primary objective of the PSA is to advance the education of the pupils in the school, in particular by:

  • Raising money to buy things for the benefit of all the children and staff at Pembury School.
  • Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school.
  • Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.

We do this through the annual Christmas and Summer Fairs plus smaller events such as termly kids’ discos, Kids on the Catwalk fashion shows, quizzes and more irregular events such as ice-skating, auctions and dinner dances. Recent PSA-supported purchases include new tables with benches for the dinner hall, playground markings, wooden playground, chairs for the ICT suite, substantial donation towards a new server for the ICT suite and an interactive white board/projector for the hall. We always welcome new committee members to help plan events and decide how to spend funds, or simply parents willing to give up an hour or two to help on the day. Every little bit helps, especially in this age of budgetary cuts as the school simply does not have the money to buy all the extras which make both lessons and playtime more educational AND fun!
